Friendly Lover

Friendly Lover, is still a grand horse whose story should be broadcast, as regardless of disciple or being a paddock pony, he is full of bravado and captivates the hearts of all he comes into contact with. Plus, he’s really handsome!”

In Charge Again

He’s a complete pet, and we love him that way, he’s doing very well, western & English, and seems very happy, he’s the most affectionate in our paddock (we now have three at home), and always wickers when there’s food arriving!!
This is our Farm’s Website! If you have a minute to look at it! there’s more very casual shots in the site photo gallery, many thanks for his care & re-training, it really shows, he’s such a gentleman!
Louise & Gregory.

Safari Man & Gold Blitz

I thought I would send you an update on Safari Man and Gold Blitz.
For starters their barn names are now Safari, and Waldo. They are certainly barn favorites! We have just finished out first show season with both, and it was a great success! Safari was overall Champion of the 3"3 Child/Adult Jumper Division, and Waldo qualified for championships in both the Hack division, and the Modified Hunter Division. They both loved the showing experience and showed great manners at new facilities. We are really pleased with the horses, and Vanessa and Safari are partners forever! The bond between them is definitely inseparable. We have a teenager, Laura riding Waldo, and she is great with him, she pampers him and treats him as her own.

| |
High Blitz

Blitz is doing great, we have enjoyed riding him.

|
| |
Apache Trail

It's been 3 hard years with Eli as he is an extremely strong powerful horse with a lot of heart. I love him so much but he is/was just too much horse for me. I am finally feeling confident with our partnership and have started eventing. We are now with a new coach that has done wonders for us both. We just started our season at Will O Winds Horse Trials and were 7th in Pre-Training!

Alphabet Scout

After a few ups-and-downs, Scout has finally (almost) forgotten the racetrack. In fact, on March 7/09 he was entered in his first dressage show at RCRA. He competes under "Family Ties" and he placed second in both of his classes! We were the only competitors from our barn and he delivered in style in front of a large contingent of well-wishers from Springwater Equestrian Centre. Lots of "WOW" factor and a little bit of attitude! The Judge's comments included "cheeky bugger"! He's a challenge, to be sure, but what a pleasure. I'm looking forward to a long and happy career with him.
Scout competed in his third show at RCRA on May 16th. He earned first place in both of his tests and the Championship in his division with scores of 69.58 and 70.42!! He was just amazing and I was absolutely stunned by the results. What a guy! What a rush!

Jimmy AKA: El Vagabond

He has been a dream. He spent a month at Grandview Farm training with Sarah Irving. (who absolutely loooves him) He has been a star ever since. He has already entered his first event and earned a fifth place with clear jumping rounds. Presently, my daughter Rebecca is riding him in Guelph where she attends school. Jimmy Crafty,(show name) is turning into a very nice event horse and everyone loves him.

|
| |
In Charge Again

He’s a star! He’s really adapted to our place, and our way of doing things, and we’re hacking around our orchards, and down the by the pond, and just loving him

Sammy

“Sammy” AKA Samurai Saga is one of the sweetest horses I’ve ever owned. We began his hunter training in the winter of 2007 and took him to his very first show in February of 2008 and placed 1st on the flat and 3rd and 4th over fences! I plan on showing him next season on the CE Trillium Circuit.

|
| |
Stag

“Stag” AKA Stag Fighter began his hunter training in the spring of 2008 and has come along AMAZINGLY well! He is so well trained on the flat that it has been so simple to transition him into jumping. He loves to be ridden and jumps anything you put in front of him. I plan on showing him this winter and next season on the CE Trillium Circuit. I also wanted to mention that Stag is the QUIETEST horse I’ve ever owned. The personality on this guy is one in a million…I’m so lucky to have been at the right place at the right time to meet my special boy.

|
| |
Andy

"Andy" AKA Agenor is doing very well and we are extremely pleased with his progress. He is in training to become a hunter and will be competing this winter and next summer on the CE Trillium circuit. We couldn't be happier with this boy!! He has surpassed all of our expectations in the short time he's been with us. We are very proud of him!

Barracuda Boy

Horse Race North Dakota and the North Dakota Horse Park are pleased to announce the arrival of their new “Equine Ambassador”, the horse Barracuda Boy. Through a partnership with the Adena Springs Farm Retirement Program, Horse Race North Dakota has acquired graded stakes winning gelding to serve as the Fargo, North Dakota racetrack’s official mascot and public ambassador. By same sire as the filly Eight Belles (Unbridled’s Song) and survivor of a racing injury himself, Barracuda Boy and his story of triumph over injury will become the cornerstone of Horse Race North Dakota’s public education program during the live race meet and throughout the year at area horse shows, horse expos, etc.

King Stag: Adopted December 2006

“King is doing amazing!!!” He settled in so well. Everyone here calls him the big puppy dog because he just loves people and follows me around everywhere. He is very playful you would never guess he was once a race horse. His dressage is amazing. We started jumping this fall and he is very bold and so proud of himself. It has been a lot of fun working with a young horse and I cannot thank you enough for the opportunity.”
 |

Mark One: Adopted June 2007

Mark has without a doubt one of the best equine personalities I have ever known. He has settled well from his awesome racing career and has proven to be the worlds greatest trail horse that not only likes to be the one “infront” but also acts as a lead pony for his paddock friend Wiz. You can find Mark with Wiz almost every afternoon hacking through the Vivian forest with their three canine pals, Pre, Kip and Millie.

|
| |

Hardballer: Adopted 2007

Hardballer alias "Bert" has been such a great addition to our family. We ride for pleasure and his first trail ride showed what a big heart and adventurous spirit he has. I work at a nursing home and have taken some of the residents to the farm and they are delighted to give him his favourite treat...carrots. He soaks up all the attention he gets from everyone. We are thankful for the chance we had to adopt him. It is a great program!

|
| |
Rocking Bird - Adopted 2006

Rocking Bird, A.K.A. "The Bird" is now enjoying his new life training to be a fine event horse. He has taken very well to his new life and gets a steady supply of scotch mints to keep his breath fresh.

|
| |
Jack - Adopted July 2006

Jack is one of a kind! He participates in our Equine Guided Education and lesson programs. He is quite lazy so he really makes the kids work! He loves to be social and he is very protective of any horse in the field that is being picked on. He loves Molly's pony and waits for him at the gate whenever he is turned out without him. The other day Molly said, "It's so nice, it's like your friend not going to play on the playground until you get there". We love him!
Jack is unique, he was a twin at birth and never grew any taller then 14.2hh therefore never raced or trained. Jack is happily part of the Gaits to
Growth program in Kentucky.

|
| |
Mongolia - Adopted November 2007

Mongolia (aka The Goose) joined my family at the end of November. He is a big sweetheart, and has been no trouble at all. I am very excited about building a wonderful relationship with Goose. I love his kind and playful personality. I plan to slowly develop his natural athletic build and see where the journey takes us. I am very grateful to all of the wonderful people at Adena Springs for their dedication to this program, and for giving me the opportunity to adopt Goose.

|
| |
Royal Chief

Royal Chief “Gatsby” is settling into life as a hunter. His attention seeking personality easily makes him the barn comedian. He enjoys his daily turnout and loves playing with the toys in his stall.
He is a neat little guy and I hope to make it to the show ring with him this summer.

|
| |
Safari Man

Safari Man is doing wonderfully. Vanessa and Safari have truly become best friends and his training is coming along very well.

|
| |
